Control Panel Template Create

Hey fellas,

 

I was looking to get some advice on how to create a template for the tcadmin login screen, so i dont have to use any of the 3 defaults it has available.

 

what do i do? how do i get started?

If you create a template it would be for all of the pages and not just the login page.

 

I've created my own template and it was slightly challenging at first but what I did was the following:

 

1. Duplicate an existing theme and rip it apart to learn how it is built

2. modify that existing theme until I got a better understanding of how the parts work

3. Make my own theme using graphics/layout from my website

So how do i edit this theme? Just via Dreamweaver?

 

I also see that the existing theme might be ok if i can just add the header/logo and footer myself so i might be able to get it to work but i just wanted to get others experiences on creating the themes.

You can just style it using Style Sheets. If you're new to it I would recommend a trial-and-error scenario

I used Dreamweaver to edit the CSS and to make any other changes necessary. Just figure out the file structure where these template files are currently located and build your own theme into that same directory.

A header and footer is all that's usually required, adding something to contain the center part is usually nice also.
