Configuring FTP

Recently we keep getting attacked by IRAQ and CHINA and VIETNAM FTP Spammers. It spams our FTP trying to guess the Administrator password and bogs down the whole network. How can we can configure tcadmin ftp to BAN someone after 3 failed tries. Thank you.

I'd like to know this as well. At the moment our log file builds up daily with thousands of spammers unable to login using usernames such as Root, Admin, Administrator. Obviously they won't guess the password using a brute forcer but it's building our log file up if anything.

System settings > plugins > Security configuration :

 

mas login attempts

ban time

and banned Ip's

They have been set for years, doesn't block them via FTP.

 

We don't have the time to manually add IP's into the block filter either.

Couldnt be set for years as that feature was only added in last year.

 

You can also set it to auto Perm. Ban.

Well since we set our master server up on a separate system, we configured it and that has been for a year and a half; you know what I mean

 

It's set to 15 minute ban, but the problem is that we're getting about 100 every 5 minutes.
