Jesse
This is the first time I've ever come across a provider from around these parts in a popular blog post. It's great to see, very impressed. And I think their pretty website did have something to do with it. If someone from Hypernia knows what kind of traffic they're getting from that I'd love to hear. http://www.instantshift.com/2009/07/09/20-excellent-web-hosting-providers-be-smart-and-choose-the-right-one/
VicToMeyeZR
Hypernia is no doubt worth recognition, but I wonder how much weight should be placed on that article. only a few of those even mentioned have I even heard of, and I have been online a very long time.... The Planet is number 1???? I have never seen there customer rating of 5/5 or 100% They have a very bad reputation when it comes to customer service. I actually tried them once for dedicated web servers(which is who hostgator uses btw.) and not only could they no get the servers to even work right for CMS's hosting they tried to not let us get out of shutting them off after less than a month and tried to make use ay for the next full month on top of it. So, I wonder how much research they actually did with people who have actually had bad experiences with them.
HIS-MOTHER
It's only been up a week (9 days) so hard to tell .. Also if you do a trace to instantshift.com it return to the planet, guess why the planet is #1 on the list eh?? LOL

Jesse
This has nothing to do with how good any of those hosts are. There are a couple dozen blogs that target the web developer/web designer/online business niche. InstantShift is a well recognized blog that is read by the perfect audience for advertising hosting services. The fact that Hypernia was recognized with some of those top hosts of which I've heard of all them is great. With the readership of that article, it might make it to top spots on Delicious, Digg etc. Hypernia hopefully will be recognized as a popular host as they will definitely start to pop-up in bigger blog posts than that one. And on a side note, most hosting review sites base their reviews on other reviews. The objective of the Planet is to only create press for its customers that love them, and in turn, "top 10 dedicated services" sites create reviews of all the good they hear, then link to them with their affiliate codes to generate a commission. You will only see the popular hosts in these because people only buy from the biggest looking companies when not purchasing through a friend/referral (and purchasing through a Google search, review site etc). Hence Gameservers.com market dominance with game servers. If Hypernia can climb the ladder to start appearing on blog posts etc. they'll benefit even more so as they start to appear on "top lists". To be honest they're on a list that includes brands like Amazon. That's real nice.
HIS-MOTHER
There's already alot on Hypernia. http://thehostingnews.com/news-hypernia-web-hosting-partners-with-gamesmasters-com-for-cabal-online-4395.html http://slackeruprising.com/download/ http://www.iinet.net.au/press/releases/iiNet_Partners_With_Hypernia_020709.pdf http://www.urban-empires.com/ http://zombiemod.com/sponsors.php http://www.askmen.com/entertainment/gaming/pc/Dragonica-Pc/news-2-1.html Thats just a few and there is probably alot still not public. The trick is to host the game producers and there infrastructure, not just the games.

Yeah, but how did you get those? that is the question. lol Wouldn't we all like to be able to "host the next AAA" console game? lol

Jesse
I have never ever heard of any of thoose games and I would bet the exposure is very very minimal. Derek is completely correct. The difference about the blog post I'm mentioning is that the owners of several blogs all talk and all read each others blogs. I guarantee InstantShift will be the "discovery" of Hypernia to that community. Readership is similar for these popular blogs and most people subscribe to a few: Build Internet Six Revisions TutsPlus Abduzeedo Quick Sprout Web Designer Depot Fuel Brand Smashing Magazine Tripwire Magazine Webdesigner Wall And if ever featured on TechCrunch IT or VentureBeat, that would be cool to see what happens. - It's too bad there's no link on the ask men site to track anything. Derek
I mean I will not take away from hypernia they do a great job, and it's pretty neat but in the end I really don't think thoose articles are really bringing them the cash.
Jesse
Any of the articles from page 1 that had links are not seen by more new and new visitors everyday. The difference being high traffic blogs bring in people looking for things. They're looking to click the links and learn and much as they can. That's why they are such a critical influence.
