L4D server "running" but not starting....

I've got what looks to be everything set up correctly, when I go to create a server it says it creates fine, and says it's running, but when I go to connect, nothing connects. As well, when I look at the Game Server Reports for that server the Hostname: section states "Server not responding". Any ideas by chance?

I think we should break this down for him

  1. Is the port being blocked by the firewall?
  2. Is the IP for the server attached to your network card?
  3. Are you using files directly from HLDSUpdatetool to install the server?
  4. Do you have a clue ?
  5. Would You like a Drink ?
  6. I have some rope if you would like some ?

please choose an option and press ok

First questions to be asked before those....

Is the executable actually running? Can you see it in the task manager?

If yes check the rest. If no check the path.

The executable is not running. I have checked the path and the path is correct. If I run the executable manually it reads. I am halfway thinking it might be an issue with it not finding the srcds.exe. In the Relative Executable field in the game configuration it is set to /L4D/srcds.exe

This is my setup and my servers are running just fine.

<FILESFOLDER>L4D</FILESFOLDER>

<RELATIVEEXECUTABLE>srcds.exe</RELATIVEEXECUTABLE>

<RELATIVEWORKINGDIRECTORY>/</RELATIVEWORKINGDIRECTORY>

<RELATIVEUSERFILES>/</RELATIVEUSERFILES

I'll look into that, as soon as I can work out this current error I'm getting whenever I go to look at the Supported Games section.
