[Blue Screen] Server randomly Crashing/Rebooting/Frozen

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I been using window server 2008 perfectly for the past few months fine.

However, ever since.. I been getting these crashes or random reboot on my server. There was no hardware changes, no network changes, no driver installed or such. Started since September 2009.

Maybe one of you guys have experience this and can give me some help?

there isn't anything running except game servers and TCadmin remote monitor status and FTP for the servers. No web hosting, no voice servers, no IRC, etc. Could it be a bug or something that Microsoft update should fix? I haven't updated it since 06/2009. Should i run a chdsk repair/error check?

hm... really neever looked into SP2 yet. Anyways, i heard there wasn't much difference compared to sP1 + SP2 for game servers.

however, i just did an update and found like 22 important updates, so i will update those tonight.

However, is SP2 an update? or is it installed through a new cd or something?

thanks.

tehrichie: did you have this problem?

No I haven't had this problem as I don't use Windows 2008 - but I always like to see threads like this resolved because I do plan on using it one day, and like to see if it's stable :)

Anyways, here is what I did so far.

Update all windows update on SP1 or R1

Update all virus updates and did some scan

did a HDD error check chdsk /f

After this

I did a update to SP2 or R2 2008

Did a update (Windows R2 Update)

Server been great so far. No crash / blue screen / etc for the past

24 hours.

Will note if anything happens but so far so great. :)

hopefully no more crashes/bsod

Was checking temperature using Everest

Both CPU is not passing over 60C so around 50ish

which is pretty normal i guess.

Also rams:

They all show 60C-65C max. so i don't think thats a problem yet.

There showing no PSU defects. So it isn't power.

There no sensor in the graphic card or integrated card

ATI ES1000 I believe thats what it is.

going to just try a driver update.

anyone still has any ideas?

I just updated the drivers and it seems to be still having a problem.

I checked temperature.

CPU - 50-60 C

Rams 60-65C

It just crashed or turned off around 6:30ish AM PST

I checked scheduled task and i notice there is a task called

"TCadmin Task" around 6:30 and every 30 minutes.

It turns on teamspeak automation, and other collectors or something regarding abouy sychnoize

Could this be the problem to the BSOD?

I have already done some chsdsk checks and it only happening to one of my server.

And chsdsk comes with no bad blocks or errors.

I have also turned off automatically restart if it fails or any errors.

Not running any other games out of TCadmin or IRC.

The last thing I have installed was Morzilla Firefox latest version

and Adobe Flash Plugin + ActiveX 10

But i don't think those can cause a problem.

ECF any Ideas? or should i open a ticket ?
