Everyone keeps telling me put my game files in C:\GameInstalls on my box. what in the hell does that mean? noone explains anything in all the posts I searched up and the documentation link I tried clicking in a thread said it was an invalid link. for the love of god, please, what the hell is a game install rar and what do i do? are you telling me i have to purchase the game elsewhere gather the files together zip them up and put them in the appropriate folder in C:\GameInstalls ? my previous box host had a fileserver for me to use. i now have a much more powerful box but this host doesn't seem to be giving me a fileserver. there is no files in C:\GameInstalls on my old box besides the weird folders for mods/maps. just please tell me what to do.. it's 1:20am and i'm extremely frustrated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Some files can be found freely online while others you must purchase the game, compress it, and upload it to your server. proclan Posted October 4, 2009 Share Posted October 4, 2009 Besides getting all of the game files you will also need to set up the patches and mods you are going to offer for each game. Rober850 Posted October 6, 2009 Author Share Posted October 6, 2009 i completely understand now what i did was i created servers on the old box, and FTP'd the files over to my game installs directory on the new box worked like a charm thanks for the info though! i'll used that when the box goes down if i need something else on there (the old box i mean). since then i was up for two days straight setting up a crapload of servers and hlstatsx community edition. so if you're looking for a good box head over to axis-pro.com but be aware you might have to do most of the stuff yourself. i did get windows 2k8 for free, though! i'm capable of hosting 1000FPS servers and it feels so much smoother with fps_max 1000 BTW, does game-monitor.com not have integration with ZPS? or is it just because it wasn't on the server in the first place and i have to enable it somehow? BTW2, epic fail on my part typo'ing my username on the TCAdmin forums. anyway you can change it to Robert850 for me, or i can do it myself?
