CS:S Tickrate

hello, i am currently running about 6 to 8 css servers on my dedicated box.

i have a couple questions regarding general performance of the servers.

 

A.) do all the servers need to be running at the same tickrate, if possible id like to have some at 100 and some at 66, but i do not want to mess up the performance.

 

B.) when i originally had servers at different tickrates they would run fine until the restart script ran in the morning and restarted all of the servers, then all of them(regardless of what tick they were set to) would run at 66tick. am i doing something wrong? or was it just a glitch?

 

im running a C2Q 2.5ghz with 8gb ram, if that helps anything.

 

i also have a slight problem with servers dipping really bad for 1 minute or so, when only 2 servers have an average of 10 people in them, and the rest are empty

1) No, settings are specific to the server. You can set each one to whatever you want.

 

2) Sounds like a bug somewhere.

 

3) Im not sure what you mean by dipping, im assuming you mean lagging? Depending on what dipping means it could be any number of things.

yea, basically lag, the tickrate will drop sometimes as low as 25ish for a minute or 2 then slowly get up closer to 100 again..

Please post in the correct thread. This is a game server related issue not a TCAdmin support issue.
