gemcneill
Thought this would be fun to discuss. With space and power being an issue in some locations where you host servers, I wonder if you could just get a shelf with laptops and make them servers. Something like this guy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9556312&type=product&id=1218123847836 It comes with windows 7 and has a i7 quad core with 6 gigs of ram an 500 gig drive. The processor speed is 1.6 but in turbo mode (i think that is what it is called) it is 2.7. I am sure you can run win2k8 on there and set the turbo to be on all the time. What do you guys think. GodFather
All laptops fail, it might be a core i7, but it's a mobile core i7 which = not very strong at all lol..
studeggle
Laptop grade components are not as powerfull, then add in the space for the screen for each and I doubt youd save space for the same power. Properly built 1u servers can house a lot of computing power.
