I7 920 How many css @ 66tick?????

Hi all

 

Iam looking at getting a server i can get a i7 920 with 12gig ram

 

Just wondering on approx how many CSS server i could fit on it at 66 tick?

 

Keeping in mind tcadmin will be on the server and the master server

 

 

or even this server

 

Intel Q9400 (2.66Ghz)

4GB DDR2800 Ram

Its really hard to tell depending on each different games if you are going to put that... however.

 

how many slots are you running?

what is your hard drive size?

is there anything else running in the server?

Will be only cs1.6 and css servers nothing else

 

HDD size will be x2 500gig

 

Been thinking on another server aswell

 

Dual XEON Quad Core 5504

12Gb DDR3 Ram

1500gig SATA

100Mb Connection

I can definitely advise you to stay away from the 1 - 1.5TB single drives, they will only cause you problems and rebuilding them into RAID would be a bugger and a half.

again a question that has no answer.

 

Its all about your OS config, your server settings and mods, quality of the hardware etc

 

TOO many parameters so you cannot get an answerto that question. The only way to know is to run tests. If your planning to start a GSP thats the minimum you can do.

 

I may be wrong but I suppose your gona rent your machines so I suggest you to rent the "best" one and run tests with it.

By best I dont mean hardware only but pricing too, actually the best for your business.

now that you got the server you will just have to test and see by yourself, thats the best answer you can get tbh
