dvdviper
Hi, I am currently evaluating the software but I have a couple of issues. The first is mod installation. I have downloaded some of the scripts that are around in the forum that automatically add some of the mods for COD UO and COD 4. I have followed the instruction and placed the .zip and .rar files in the TCA.Mods folder. when I click to install the mod nothing is being installed to the game folder. I have double checked on the forum and noted that the zip and the rar files have to be in the correct directory structure to install correctly and I have also purposely done an incorrect dir structure to see if the files were being extracted but no files are appearing. The other issue I have is with Punkbuster. When I click to update punkbuster, I get an error message 403 Forbidden in the pop up window. The link that is set in the Supported Games section is http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php Please help
dimitrifrom31
are ur game servers geting created properly? if yes then i suppose you got something wrong with your mod name or whatever. Go to Admin Home > System Settings > Servers and select view console output. Then install a mod and check if something goes wrong.
dvdviper
Thanks for that advice - I found the problem. The console stated that the server was looking in the wrong folder for the mods (D:\ etc) when it should have been C:\GameInstalls. Corrected and now working. Any advice on the punkbuster problem? HIS-MOTHER
Thanks for that advice - I found the problem. The console stated that the server was looking in the wrong folder for the mods (D:\ etc) when it should have been C:\GameInstalls. Corrected and now working. Any advice on the punkbuster problem? Some of the older configs here have the wrong PB URL as it was changed and Luis updated TCa to pull from it. For COD4 it is http://evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php Then of course for other games go here http://evenbalance.com/ Click the game you want PB to update, then click "Software Updates: Download" Now copy that URL from the page and put in TCA's PB update URL area. dvdviper
That link is the one that is already set in the PB Update settings. This generates the 403:Forbidden error.
HIS-MOTHER
That link is the one that is already set in the PB Update settings. This generates the 403:Forbidden error. You stated it is punkbuster.com not evenblalance.com The link that is set in the Supported Games section is http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php PB is a redirect. Try making it Evenbalance.com
dvdviper
I have tried changing this and it is still returning the same error. Will I need to recreate the game server for the new settings to apply?
Steven Crothers
No, you just need to set the url to evenbalance in the supported games configuration, I tested it on our server and it works fine.
dvdviper
Strange - I have RDC onto the desktop and the link works - but I still get the 403 Forbidden error. Previously I have updated manually using the pbsetup file that is available. Will I need to delete any previous PB files and start from scratch? HIS-MOTHER
Different error message now - ERROR: Too many automatic redirections were attempted. This is starting to get annoying Like Steven and I stated. Edit the URL to evenbalance.com not punkbuster.com I don't think the TCA window can handle the redirect.
