create game server on diffrent username

Sorry to bug everyone, but i ran across an article to customize a .XML file for TCA on creating game servers with a different user-name and password in server 2k3. I can't find this article and I've been looking almost everyday past Christmas, when i found it, for securing TCAdmin down on a win server box.

 

The add-on uses a different user to create a game server instead of a administrator on that server to have his account not compromised.

 

And, i forgot what forum i found this thread im discussing about in, sorry.

 

Any help finding this article would be greatly appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything else i should be concerned about security wise.

 

TCAdmin is new to me so i want to make sure that i have all security protocols in place on our servers. Besides Firewalls, and heavy passwords on both MySQL and server and permissions on services and accounts. For example;

 

We have Windows Firewall enabled: yea i know its lame....

 

Heavy 64 character passwords, server side.

 

ICMP disabled, as-well as other services

 

I know from studying the forums, these are the basics upon basics; and have learned a great deal. Hopefully there is nothing else.

 

BTW: is there anything else that i should know about?

windows firewall is fine.

 

you can use IPsec to lock some unused ports.

I would also recommend an antivirus with a live protection and an exception on userfiles.

 

as for the rest you will most likely learn by yourself after facing some issues, yeah i know its hard but true.

Just to inform; i forgot to mention above that we have a corporate license for McAfee 8.5i anti-virus with AntiSpy-ware module. But i appreciate your advice.

 

so the jist is basically, go by experience.
