2 Remote monitor servers broken - Service no longer runs

G'day,

I've got two of my remote monitor servers in a borked state at the moment.

The monitor service will no longer run on either box. When running in console mode the error shown is:

"Monitor.New: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I've ruled out firewall/connectivity/database errors and have reinstalled and reconfigured the tcadmin monitor software on both servers with no luck.

When attempting to access a game server information or even information on the server itself I get the same error message:

Checking the logs on the effected game servers shows this same error message repeated each time the server monitor restarts itself.

Anyone else experienced this issue? lil help?

Both servers were working up until about Nov/December last year.

Both servers have game servers currently installed and running on them.

The master server and web interface list them as being in "unknown" state, however RDP in to the box shows the game services are running.

I can ping both the master server and database server from the affected machines.

Same problem here, running multiple gameservers.

Getting this "Could not connect to the master monitor." when i go to "Gaming Services"

When restarting the monitor service still no joy.

Makes the controlepanel slow.

Running the gameservers on Master Server

Windows Server 2003 x64 datacentre edition.

Could it have sopmething to do with latest windows updates??

We do not provide support via phone. Only via the support ticket system. So save your money :)

Not looking for phone support, looking for my correct username and password to be able to raise a support ticket. :)

Further update: Just blew away tcadmin on one of the boxes and from within tcadmins master server and reinstalled.

Same error:

22/03/2010 1:57:20 PM : Monitor.New: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Its the 1st entry in both the monitor and error log file.

Download a new config file for that server from the control panel and run the TCAdmin Config utility on the remote and use that file. Also check and make sure that windows firewall is not blocking the connection.

Lastly, make sure that your master server is updated to the latest version. If you attempt to install a newer remote version and the master is not up to date this would cause an issue.

Weird,

Getting this problem too for one of my remote.

I am getting errors like “Could not make a TCP connection to master monitor” and also

Could not connect to remote servers and database or some sort.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

EDIT* Nevermind, got it to work. Had to do a reboot though.
