If you are think about selling your GSP

My degree says your Two cents is only worth 1.33 cents on the market. ;)

Of course mine came in the Cracker Jack box.

Probably less after you factor in the rate of inflation.

I was lucky the VA paid for my education, the BA, BS, and MBA anyway. Next year I hope to start on my DBA but I will have to pay for that.

Hard to justify the $60,000 just so I can put a Dr. in front of my name, but what the hell, I am a disabled Vet with nothing else to do.

For as long as I have been posting in this forum you should know by now that I am just trying to start some heated debate. Hijacking is just part of the game.

Swimming is my new favorite. Been training for my first triathalon and all the pool time has definitely payed off. Also really easy on the joints (unless your doing flys of course :D).

I loved to run, but now my disabilities won't allow it, hell I am lucky that can still walk.

At age 39, and that was some years ago, I did a 12.53 2 mile run for my last official PT test in the Army.

We don't just for customers. We look at the value of real assets. Buying a company with good hardware and customers is just an added bonus. I love the people asking $30,000 for 50 customers and nothing owned.

The value of a company depends on the size of the company's FCF (free cash flow), the timing of those flows, and the risk involved.

and so many other things :

reputation

location

previsions

Installations/Hardware

Licenses owned

Knowledge (can be tricks, features, etc known by that company only)

Referencement

Customers database (I mean even non active ones)

Commercial contacts (relationships)

Owner's mood :)

I have an M.B.A with a major in marketing so I am not some kid that rents a few dedicated servers and calls himself a company.

This data is available and extensive research on the subject has been done. Google is your friend dude, it knows all.

Could of leartn much more if I started my business right away and my position would be much better.

Selection for high school is strict but thats all really.

Degrees are good for getting jobs and burning up extra time. I'd take someone with more real job experience over a degree.

And funny thing is after I completed a degree the thing I kept hearing from potential employers was contact us after you have some experience under your belt. (P.S. I had a 3.87 GPA and darn near top of my class so it wasn’t just I got a degree sliding by, but I still considered it a piece of cake vs. the real world.)

Degrees simply demonstrate discipline and introduce you to ideas. But ideas can be gained anywhere they don't require a degree.

Don’t get me wrong, I do see degrees as useful. But not in really teaching you something, instead they are just the little bit extra that sticks your resume at the top of the list with others that have as much experience as you.

Back when I made that post June was the projected completion date. I needed advanced corporate finance and the capstone course. I decided to take both courses at the same time, one online and the other at the local campus. I completed both the first semester of this year, so now I am done. I am taking an advanced accounting class right now and over the next year I will take a few other courses but that is all in preparation for my DBA.

I agree, there are many cases where motivated individuals have succeeded without a degree; however, they are the exception to the rule and make up a small percentage of corporate America. A degree does not guarantee success; it only demonstrates your potential to succeed.

What you learn from taking any class will depend on what you are willing to put into it. The same is true for anything you do in life.
