ECF
Gmail will not allow relays from other emails. You need to use mail.rssclan.com or whatever smtp server is.

Steven Crothers
Gmail will not allow relays from other emails. You need to use mail.rssclan.com or whatever smtp server is. Thats not true at all. TCAdmin is incapable of using GMail as a relay - not the other way around. TCAdmin has zero SSL/TLS support, there is no encryption built in, which is why GMail will not work, it also leaves anyone who wants to use SSL/TLS logins in the dark as well, or they have to use a separate mail server. That's been one of my gripes about TCA for a good long while, lack of any encryption whatsoever for data transmission.
Guest Unregistered
Seems like my deidcated is blocking it all firewall is off and im using: IIS 6.0 <--to host tcadmin How can i get the mail server to work
ECF
Try telnetting into the mail server. Open a command prompt and type : telnet <serverip> 25 Then hit enter. You should get a prompt if it is not blocked or you will get a cannot connect error if it is blocked. If it is blocked then you need to figure out what is blocking it. Evcthosting
for the most part since we run our own stuff we did see some issues but after setting the correct things in place like a PTR and network design it does work with out a doubt. ......... Guest Unregistered
I keep getting this message: Error while sending the email: The transport failed to connect to the server. Im using Hostgator and it says the smtp server port is 26 instead of the standard 25. Could this be the problem and how would I specify that port? Heres the connection info I'm using: SMTP Server: mail.evolutionservers.net "From" Email: support@evolutionservers.net (at hostgator it says server requires authentication so I check that) User Name: support+evolutionservers.net Password: (the one I setup when I created the email account) Thanks for your help! studeggle
Unfortunately at this time you can't specify the port. You would need a port 25 mail server.
