New CSS : Working Plugins

Here is an informative list about the new CSS plugins. Feel free to post the plugins you have tried :

 

Plugins working (tested) :

 

  • Metamod:Source 1.8.2
  • SourceMod 1.3.3 Stable
  • SourceMod 1.4.0 Development
  • Mani's admin 1.2 U (with up to date gametypes.txt dl'ed from mani site)
  • EvenScripts unofficial fix : here : VERY UNSTABLE, testing purposes only
  • CS:S DM v2.1.1

 

 

 

Plugins known to not work or be unstable :

 

  • Eventscripts v2.1.0.xxx Public Beta
  • ZombieMod 2
  • zblock 440
  • Dos Attack fixer 4
  • ES Tools (most likely dead)

Were there no indication of these changes mentioned on the HLDS mailing list?

 

It seems like a lot of people are scrambling to correct commandlines and directory structures. I thought I read on the mailing list that this was coming?...

I think those ppl are either trying to start with the "old" srcds, either they dont have the correct files (was my case, the update failed, saw it when relaunched).

Their timelime is normally never correct ECF, within the next hour turns out to be within the next 6 hours to a day most of the time. Then they said that they were going to push the content but not activate it yet, but when they pushed it out, they activated it...i mean, really there was some talk of when it was going to happen, but because of the changes, everyone is scrambling because of the change.

 

When i talked to Jason at Valve he told me that the release of the content was pending updates and code base changes the day before the content was released. He was guessing the timeline at that time was going to be another week out to sort through the code changes....

 

Leave it to valve, enough said.

When i start all servers randomly some servers don't start and on console don't have any error (if i put it with other port don't have problems).

 

If i start they one by one by 27015 first, 27016 second, etc. All of it goes online. Don't understart this problem atm.

 

Someone are having this problem ?

Try increasing the ports in nominations of 5 starting after 27020

 

27025, 27030, 27035, 27040 ....I'm not positive, but someone said that 27015-27020 are semi restricted, meaning 1 server can overtake multiple ports between this range from another server running on the same ip.

Already found the problem.

 

With this CSS update 1 Server use 4 ports, 1 for the SourcTV and 3 for the server, when one of them starts on 27005.

 

When we have many servers on one machine it starts to use other server ports and got problems.

 

To fix it i change my HL range ports do 37015 .... so that will fix my problems and future problems that could happen.

 

If you use 27020 and more you will have problems on some servers on the future.

The best solution is to research and write your command lines and configs to control all ports, every port used can be set and if they are set by you instead of just defaulting then you won't have problem with overlapping ports, whether it be old or new clients.

how do u set other ports than serverport and Tvport ?

The ones as far as I know don't work are:

 

CSS RPG

zBlock V4.40

EventScripts (gungame/estools ties in there)

Zombiemod

 

I spoke to Mattie today and said that he is already working on eventscripts and its not that far off from working with new engine.

I'm well aware I am probably going to get flamed for this, but tough. There are ways to make due. My with holding the exact details doesn't prevent the game from being run as a dedicated server by others just complicated automation and customer satisfaction which are primarily issues with my competitors.

 

My company spent about a month researching source and orangebox control of all ports as we were not happy with the simply step it up by a bunch, and move any overlapping clients that already exist solution. We felt this was an unacceptable answer so put the work into finding a better way.

 

I will tell those that want to put forth the effort that the answer is out there I will even point you in the right direction to start your research http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/ and http://list.valvesoftware.com/ but I will not spoon feed the masses.

Eventscripts has been released so ES and Gungame can be put as working. My server is running fine.

Cause its stated on gungame5 fourm:

 

Known Issues:

 

gg_spawn_protect causes crashes

Temporary solution: disable

gg_turbo causes crashes

Potential solution: Add "eventscripts_deadflag 0" to your autoexec.cfg

Nade kill causes crashes with turbo enabled

Temporary solution: do not use HEGrenades with gg_turbo

gg_dead_strip causes crashes

Temporary solution: disable

A question mark appears <?> at the beginning of hudhints

This does not harm anything, and will eventually be fixed via the EventScripts usermsg library

No problems yet most of that stuff i do not use. I just use gungame for gungame and let metamod/sourcemod handle the rest.
