using both and i find CE easier to use, WHMCS can be confusing on certain points. Its also harder to configure and very buggy when it comes to duplicate products.

 

The only + I see for WHMCS is the affiliates plugin. For everything else my vote goes for CE.

Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Best is to demo them both, and see which fits your needs the best. I have used them both for a few years, but I am using WHMCS exclusively now.

WHMCS just came out with their latest version. We just installed it a few days ago. It has quite a few "new" features added to it.

 

I cannot comment on CE as we have never used it.

 

I would take Doug's advice and try them both out to see which one you like better.

Still use both, and to be honest I like CE for small/simple setups, and WHMCS for more complex setups. They both have their strengths and weaknesses, but nobody wants to sit there and configure both of these pieces of software, and you really can't find all the flaws for your own company until you actually use the software for awhile. Whats nice with this, is both pieces of software have conversion scripts to migrate to the other---Infact I believe they both will even do the migration for you free of charge. Just something else to think about.

I tried both and really liked WHMCS better.

 

However, I would go ahead and try clientexec and see again myself

 

also the new update for whmcs is great
