darm Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 -Server info- Name: [EPA] | Semi-Serious | RolePlay Game: Garry's Mod 10 Mods/Scripts: DarkRP, Phx3, Wiremod, ULX Map: Rp_downtown3b -Problem- Server won't start up or restart, We checked everything and nothing seems to be wrong the only conclusion we can come up with is the server provider. We also restored everything to default, recheck everything, and look for updates for steam and gmod (no updates/ new releases). studeggle Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 As a customer you are limited with the levels of checks that would be suggested around here, but here are the things I wish my customers would check before putting in the support ticket as they are not our errors. Is the start map 100% correct, IE spelling and placement? Has an alternate like a default map been tried as sometimes there is a problem with the map even if it played fine elsewhere? Will the server start without mods? If so it is the mods, now a good host will help you troubleshoot the mods but in the end the mods are your choice and not there's they generally don't guarantee a specific set of mods will work. Have you run steam update, if you are given that option? Sometimes files become corrupted or the server could be starting but have old files and be stuck requesting it be updated.
