gemcneill
I have an issue with a game server not wanting to run in secure mode. The server is not flagged to run insecure, but it does any way. The server is searchable, pingable, but just wont come out of insecure modes. When I do a status it says this insecure (unknown) Not sure what this means. Any help would be great. Lane
Add -secure to your commandline.
gemcneill
I do not think this is the issue. If I use the command line from the service and run it manually, there is no problem, but if I run it in tcadmin and set it to interact with the desktop it gives this error unable to load steam support library This server will run in lan mode only. This just recently happened after the last steam update on some of my servers. There has to be an issue with tcadmin at this point, or at least it is affecting tcadmin. LFA
Another client had a similar problem. It was only happening when running as local system and as a guest user. For some strange reason srcds.exe was loading a file from another client's folder. It was fixed by deleting a file named rev.ini from another client's folder. To troubleshoot configure your game server to run as a guest user using method 1: http://clients.tcadmin.com/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=37 Use process monitor to see which files the game server is loading. Create a filter for the user that you create to filter out all the other messages: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645

jpc6585
Its totally tcadmin, I have been dealing with this for about a week. I can get the games to work perfectly manually with shortcut and parameters. I have been using tcadmin for over two years and never had any problems like this.....WHATS GOING ON? I can get the games to work perfectly manually with shortcut and parameters. I have been using tcadmin for over two years and never had any problems like this.....WHATS GOING ON? A recent steam update has caused this. To fix, run a steam update. If you have Steam Client on the server box, open it up and update it.
dobledosis
Another client had a similar problem. It was only happening when running as local system and as a guest user. For some strange reason srcds.exe was loading a file from another client's folder. It was fixed by deleting a file named rev.ini from another client's folder. I had the same problem with TF2. I removed the rev.ini file but it didn`t work I had to deny access to the steamclient.dll file. Its really strange because y have 10 equal services with rev.ini and steamclient.dll under the same user but i only had to deny from one of them. adamnp
I'm sure Monk could chime in with why it does that lol...I'm guessing a memory issue? Assuming the file loads once into memory, then each server utilizes the same dll instead of each loading 1? That's my guess from left field lol
