Remote Server Install Guide

Hello,

I'm having some issues creating a remote server. I am able to create it in TCAdmin Master server and I can download the config file.

When I install TCAdmin on the remote server, all goes smoothly. When I start the config tool, select the remote server, then select the configuration file, everything is fine.

When I start the service in console mode, I get the follow errors:

System.Xml.XmlException: There is no Unicode byte order mark. Cannot switch to U

nicode.

When I rerun the configuration tool, I get the same error just in a white dialog box. After I click OK, the tool runs and it crashes at the very end, when starting the service.

I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 on both the master and remote. Not sure what else I'm missing. I really couldnt find much documentation for remote servers so im a bit stuck at this point.

Thanks,

Andrew

Okay so I got the right version installed now.

Everything installed ok, did the configuration via web browser and it restarted the service. Now its not accepting requests on port 8880. Monitor and service manager are running. I've restarted them both.

How do I start in console mode so I can see whats going ?

Never mind, I think I figured it out.

Just one question, What's the database connection for? Does it require a database to the master server or does it create it own? If requires a connection to the master, I used SQlite which I dont think supports remote connections.

Ok got it. When I do a show version or when I try to create a game on the remote server, im getting this error message:

"The request failed with HTTP status 401: 10.30.30.194 is not a trusted ip address.. "

Hate to bump an old thread but I hate when people have a problem and fix it and don't tell others how they fixed it.

What exactly did you do to fix this issue? Been having this issue lately and can't seem to figure out a solution.

- Go to your remote server

- download config for remote server

- go to the TCAdmin folder

- double click on WebConfigUtility

- go through the setup on the local (remote) server

- upload the config you downloaded form the master server tot he remote server

- in the WebConfigUtility browse to the file location

- finish going through the config utility (no need to fill anythign else out)

- restart monitor on remote machine

- do show version on master version

- update remote to match monitor version
