Nobby
Hi, How does the update/patch system and the update generator work when using ZIP files for game isntalls instead of individual files? I.e. For the update generator to work, I need to have a copy of the games files so when the update is run it knows what files have changed, but I am using ZIP files for the game installs. If I have both a ZIP file and the individual game files in the GameInstalls folder, which does TCAdmin use first? Do I need to rezip all the updated files and overwrite the existing game install zip file everytime there is an update? Thanks for any info. kalyse
TC Admin first searches for .RAR files then .ZIP files, then if it doesnt find any with the name of the folder it is looking for it goes to the games folder. Yes the update generator works by analysing the contents of the folder at the beginning then seeings what has changed.
ECF
To answer your other question... Yes you will need to create a new .zip file after you have updated the file folder for the game, so that any new game installs will be the correct version.
