Calling all GSP's

What is everyones thoughts on bots? specifically on the source engine.

 

 

 

Currently we limit customers to 4 bots due to the increased CPU usage, some customers had one human and 31 bots at the same time which is utterly ridiculous when it comes to affecting the performance for other customers on the same server.

 

 

 

Would it be a good idea to totally ban bots or is 4 too little/too generous?

 

What are other game server providers policy on bots?

Our policy depends 100% on the game and its cpu usage/mem usage, for instance 1 game might have a bot that needs 10meg of ram and another might only use a fractional amount that doesnt affect other customers gameplay or the servers status

We just flat up ban bots. They really aren't as bad say COOP in Vietnam on the processor but it's just easier to say NO AI players and leave it at that.
