Garry's Mod latest Update :-(

Today I had a customer put in a ticket about his Garry's mod wouldn't update. So the first thing that came to mind, is STEAMCMD. I pull out (or rather clicked on) my trusty notes on the last go around with STEAMCMD and proceeded to update manually our AT2 server. Thinking this was going to be a walk in the park (1st mistake) I proceeded to update.

Now my notes are a culmination of an evening or rather afternoon and evening spent working with Luis from TCadmin who did a bangup job helping me get 7 dedicated's updated for TF2 when they made the change to STEAMCMD. So I grab my notes and away I go. Nothing happened. It wouldn't update, so I put in a ticket and Luis sent me the correct new config.xmls. I thought I was GOLDEN...yes this ticket is closed and I am going to grill up some burgers...

Well I was wrong...I should of went here first.

Should of just installed the files Luis sent me, posted that link to the customer, crack open a Coca-Cola and enjoyed the grilled burgers...

Seems the damn game updates but will not run to save your life. Shows that it's running, but when you look at it in console, thats a different matter. Look at it with a game browser and that cow I ate in the form of a burger had more life...latency 2000??? Didn't know it registered that high...why doesn't it just say "Rolled over and Died" ...

Here's the console log...

Notice this line: lua_shared_srv.so

It said it doesn't exist...Well it don't and when you try to update again STEAMCMD says Game ID 4020 is up-to-date...

I think I will wait till I can find an update that works before I continue with this. If anybody hears anything, let me know, Tomorrow is steaks on the grill night...

I'd been having issues lately with steamcmd games, did a wipe of steamcmd itself (remove everything but steamcmd executable) and it updated and fixed issues with problematic game servers.

So in the linux32 folder in root, you deleted everything but steamcmd?

I have a bunch of other files...

Just want to make sure.

Just deleted as in the post above but also had to install UpdateTool-0.4.tar.bz2 from

http://didrole.com/UpdateTool/

Seems to install the latest version of GMOD but still have this error in console...

and finally the answer for me was....

to manually install libstdc++.so.6 this file dated 04/22/2013 into the /tcadmin/monitor/tools/streamcmd folder. Plus I put it into the tcafiles/games/garrysmod-linux/bin folder.

I copy it from the original linux 32 folder that steamcmd had before I had to replace it with the Updatetool option if the steamcmd doesn't work.

The Updatetool libstdc++.so.6 file is outdated and this one I am using is updated.

I found the information here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1275951#post40922758
