Eirik
Hello, I recently suffered a big DDoS (Yes, DDoS, not DoS), and my dedicated server provider decided to suspend my service and delete all my files. This was a huge loss for me as I'm a GSP. I lost all my client files, servers and such. We have gotten ourselves a new server with a new host. As soon as we had it all set up, and started to get back our customers and new orders we were attacked again (Smaller attack, but still). Our server provider simply blocked the port that was being attacked and waited till it stopped. They recommended me to get a better firewall such as CSF, which I did, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it working with TCAdmin as you have to add the ports into the configuration manually and then restart CSF. Is there any way to work around this? Any tips or ideas on how to do this with TCAdmin. Any other firewalls that has the same features and functions as CSF? I'm running on CentOS 6. Just a fun fact, we took about a 1000 servers down with us in the first attack. All the best, Eirik
Eirik
Anyone? I'll gladly change firewall to get this solved, but I need a working firewall that can prevent at least the smaller attacks.
Bubka3
CSF will not stop DDoS attacks. You need hardware level mitigation to stop these. Otherwise your provides will continue to null your IPs.
