minecraft Ram Help

For some reason no matter what I do I can not give more than 1G of ram to my server...

 

My command line is

-Xmx5G -Xms1G -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

 

even tried the ones below.

-Xmx5G -Xms5G -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

-Xmx5120M -Xms2560M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

-Xmx5120M -Xms5120M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

-Xmx5120M -Xms2048M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

-Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui

 

No idea how to make it.

I've previously helped him with setting up something, and I must say that I'm very much confused about how TCAdmin is installed. If I remember correctly, all services is installed on 2 drives, and when creating a Minecraft service, editing the properties file from the file manager does nothing. It's like the server is starting up with files that are not the ones you see in the file manager.

That does sound strange, I wish I could help. If Dennis has the details correct we may need more information to try to help trouble shoot for you.

 

Setup, install paths, directory etc., command lines and any scripts you are using. This does not sound like a normal install so we need some understanding to really be able to help you.

Its normal MC 1.7.10 No mod or anything.

Commandline is wrong, second RAM value is 1024.

That doesn't matter. It's just the minimum heap size.

And yet, with all things java, I have always had those two values the same.

 

But I see you've already tried that, so I said nothing.

If you set the minimum heap size to fx 2048, Minecraft will keep using more RAM. If you set it to 128MB, the amount of RAM the server is using will decrease when it's not being used.
