Steam Download Failed

Hello, I have managed to get some games working on tcadmin but the majority will not. All of the half life games fail to download, including team fortress 2, counter strike 1.6, team fortress classic etc.

 

I get this:

 

Error - Steam download failed at 8%. Exit code 8

 

Anyone have any ideas?

You're using steamcmd with anonymous login for 'em?

Yes and I have also tried with my own username and password, neither work.

 

Do you also how to fix this error when starting a Garry's Mod server?

There's a post about that on Gmod's forums. Google it, and you'll end up finding it

 

They updated Glibc.

Hmm the fix seems to be for Ubuntu unless I'm reading wrong? I'm on Debian.

Debian & CentOS:

wget http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/po...u10.5_i386.deb

dpkg -x libc6_2.15-0ubuntu10.5_i386.deb tmp/

cd tmp/lib/i386-linux-gnu/

cp * /your-garrysmod-directory/bin/

 

Debian and Ubuntu is basically the same thing. Ubuntu is built on Debian.

Any idea how to get the Half Life games to download without erroring?
