so if I have the server files from one account, does it work without logging into steam?

hmm they mention you don't need the full copy of the game to run servers, however i don't see it under tool tab?

NO ETA yet, no official release. Either they are already beta testing this and skipping the beta test for us, and going straight for the official release or something. Many people are kinda upset in STEAM forums and AVP

Seems like files won't be out until the next few days.. how disappointing from Rebellions' end. Rebellion are busy preparing the dedicated server for the Aliens vs. Predator community. We hope to have a beta release with reduced functionality out in the next few days and further updates to improve functionality and fix bugs over the next few weeks. The files will be available to download from the “Tools” tab in the Steam client and will be a free download. i can't get TCadmin query to work or the server player monitor. but the cpu monitor + memory monitor works. weird eh? anyone having this problem?

your posting on the wrong section. should post it on the support. anyways, did you read the manual? everything is pretty much thing and self-explantory. to get maps and such, which way are you trying to do it as? automated install thorugh a click (mods / map packs) or all automated when you create the server? (pre-installed)

thanks. but how come in your config there no sv_password? were you not able to get it to work too?

hm, some how using the config or changing the "" still brings the server invisible and unseen able in HLSW or TCAdmin query.

Oh, I see. Hm.. thats weird.. i did the method 2 where you edit the default config file. and it seems like that still doesn't work. but i didn't reinstall the game server yet however, I'll just copy + paste and overwrite the existing.

pretty much you can only get 4 players in campiagn mode or realism 8 players in versus or scavenge mode.

so its basically %rconpassword% with out the "" or basically we just have to re-enter the ""? "%rconpassword%"

I don't have the sv_steamgroup problem but I think sv_password does crashes the server or if you put a password. anyone else tried this?

Just like what Derek said, you can't get over 35 FPS on Left 4 Dead games. that is what Valve locked it at. and i don't really see a point of getting over 35 since the game is really playable.

sv_password pretty much brings the server down. i think it has to do with valve or some sort. when i did it on the demo it did the same for me.
