Some suggestions for Mods and Updates page
WolwX replied to WolwX's topic in Feature and Module Ideas
About uninstallation, at moment I do it by script. Ok about external updates, I understand, but I just want to say, we are administrator of our system, and we are the keeper of the good security, so if some of us consider there is risk with external updates, just don't use it no ? Perhaps something into the overpass file created when installing tcadmin, to allow or not this feature, like there is a setting to allow or not the use of executable files ? Another request, that's would be great to "copy" another mod or update when creating a new one. Including when creating a new mod or update into another gameserver model. Perhaps a way to export addons/update model will simplify that ? -
Yes subuser it's a mustbe into a gamepanel I understand we must wait after it and I know v2 is always in beta state, but I do +1 on this topic since for me too that's an important feature

I was thinking about trying to do something with configuration editor. Did you some test and find some limitations with configuration editor ?
-
I agree with peace, that's can be a cool feature, and that's can help some of us.

Hello Simple question, any way to use an automation on loading balance when creating a gameserver by whmcs ?

Hello people I have some suggestions for the mods page : I think it miss a "comments" column. Like into to the update page. A way to class by categories mods can be really interesting, like that we can choose the categorie and our customers will be able to find what they want including if we have a large number of mods. and for Updates page : Scripts and Configuration miss For both : Perhaps a list of files to removes when uninstalling ? A list of gameserver using the mod/update blocking the possibility to delete the update/mod The possibility to set an url for file location, to be able to use automatic update/mod That's would be great to "copy" another mod or update when creating a new one. Including when creating a new mod or update into another gameserver model. Perhaps a way to export addons/update model will simplify that ? And in conclusion if the page of updates and mods can be two different but with the same features, that's will be great

You can edit the tcadmin configuration to set it to port 80 or you can try proxy balancer with mongrel_cluster to use a different port for your virtualhost

Hello, I have a little request I wish to be able to set the way the gameserver list will be display for my customers. I mean, by defaut, the list don't show the gameserver name for exemple, and other things can be preset friendly for users. So if we can set somes "presets" way to display the gameserver list, that's can be really more friendly for our customers since the actual way to see the list is more "admin" oriented. I post here more than into feature request because perhaps there's already this possibility or a trick to do that.

Hello, Just one little thing There isn't any way to set the "incorrect value alert" so we have always this type of alert => The value entered is not valid. without telling to the customer what's wrong with the value. I suggest to add an option to set an Incorrect Value Message, like already exist the one for Requiered Value. This option will be great for variable using regex options.

Hello, I think there is a little bug with the delete action of a game template. I used it by error, the alert message came, and I canceled the action, but data was already wiped By data I mean custom scripts, variables, configuration files and others.

Thanks for the link It was hard to find http://help.tcadmin.com/Main_Page :x That's open much possibilities

Hello, I'm trying to create some shell script, but I stuck in this step. I wish to create a file in a directory. Nothing hard using cat or any text editor, but when I try to give him a custom name, in relation with my customer, I don't know how to do it :/ I looked after some variable like $params["serverusername"] or $serverusername or $mycustomvariable without success ... So if anyone know how to do that ? The way to use thoses types of system variable, and the list can be usefull for me, so if anyone have the list of some informations to help me, I will be happy

disable user to use "text editor" for some configuration files
WolwX replied to WolwX's topic in Linux Support
Your software is powerfull ! A bit hard to understand all possibilities but really powerfull That's perfect Thanks for the link -
Hello, A little report about some problem when using html into variables. I just ended a custom configuration for Mumble, using preconfigured variables like "welcometext" and when I try to use the ServiceQueryStatus.aspx page (Current Activity & Stats) the page have some problem because of the html used (I used some tables) I think we can have this problem with all "html" using table embed into variable, so I suggest to print into "brut" mode variables's information to avoid that. So the more simple to explain it, is to show a screenshot

disable user to use "text editor" for some configuration files
WolwX posted a topic in Linux Support
Hello My question is simple, I wish to disable my customers to use the function "text editor" into the "Configuration Files" tab. I want to block them to only use the "Configuration Editor" Any way to do that ? Perhaps a feature request for the "Feature Permissions" system ? -
I agree with peace, a way to change the template as we want, and without changing the system file, under your protection, will be perfect But thanks for the tips LFA, I will try to work a bit into the default theme, to do something more friendly for my customers

Hello I want to know if there is a way to customise much more than a simple "css" side into TCadmin gamepanel ? I wish to change menu list, service list, and, the most important, the front page, because much user don't understand why there isn't any direct information too our gameserver when they login. I checked the files, .aspx one, but all are protected. I think this is a "must be" function to personalise and transform as we want, and actually I think that's not really "user friendly", but perhaps there is already a way to do that.

Hello, Just check the game "Games & Other Voice Servers" section, you will find a template for Minecraft

Hello, I was thinking about this possibility, and I don't know if someone already coded it. The idea is already used by some GSP, and is simple : When gameserver is not used since x times, by checking slot usage for exemple, the gameserver is switched into "hibernate" state, or simply stopped. By this way, that's save manyyyyyyyyyy ressources into our dedicated server. So a new subtab into the Process & Query Monitoring, called "Usage detection" and permetting to choose the variable usage, and the action, can be a really good feature for all of us I think So if this script don't exist, I hope that's idea will be checked by some TCAdmin

Hello, Those Scheduled restarts are really nice But I have a request to increase them : Can you add a tab into the model of gameserver, to permit to create Scheduled restarts ? With default activation or not ? That's can be usefull I wish to propose Scheduled restarts by default to all my clients of CSS type gameserver, and with that I will avoid to create a "howto" explained how to set by themself a Scheduled restarts.

That's perfect Thanks again

Hello Someone have the same issue as me ? Every time I try to use a .tar or .gz file to install Counter Strike Source, I stuck into this error, at the end of the process, after extracting files srcds_run does not exist That's work perfectly when using a normal folder
