Half Life Specialists Mod

I've searched high and low for info on Half Life Specialists Mod. I've have been able to upload the game to my server, uploaded the TCAdmin config file , and was able to create a server...or so I thought...the server is created but it will not start. I believe it has something to do with the fact that it is searching for the hlds.exe to start the server but the TS folder of which the game is installed does not have this executable.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you for the quick response.

-console -game ts +ip 209.223.236.21 +port 27015 +maxplayers 30 +map ts_lobby

This is my command line created through tcadmin.

My gamefiles folder has a TS folder installed but there is no HLDS.EXE in it.

The link is a screen shot of my TS folder on the server. As you can see there is no HLDS.EXE in it...nor in any of the folders within that folder.

Are you saying I should have the half life folder with the TS folder within it?

As is stands...I have a gamefiles folder that all games are installed in. The Specialists game is installed in the Gamefiles folder as TS, much like Halflife is in a HL folder.

And what do you mean exactly as in top level directory?

Keep in mind that this is new to me and it's not as easy as setting up a Counter Strike or Day of Defeat game.

How exactly should the folders appear both on the server and how do i get it to work correctly with the TCAdmin?

It works exactly the same as a regular CS server would.

You have your top level directory which should have numerous files in it including hlds.exe. You then have sub-folders such as cstrike which contain the game specific files for that game.

Basically you need to do a defaul install of Half Life, then put your TS files in the top level directory.

The Hl directory does NOT go in the TS folder.

This is just as easy as setting up a CS or DOD server, It uses as the same directory structures except you have a TS folder instead of a cstrike or DOD folder.

Didn't seem to work that way. I'm stumped.

I've already got halflife setup to where when I install it it automatically has the TS folder within it and it has all of the Specialists files. For some reason I can't seem to keep the server running...I'll double check my halflife installation but I'm pretty sure its good.

Ok this is how the server is setup:

All games are installed at c:/gamefiles

Each game has it's own file...Halflife = HL, Day of Defeat = DOD, Day of Defeat Source = DODS, etc.

Using the TCAdmin config for specialists places the game in a TS folder within the Gamefiles folder like the others. However, when the game is created all files from the TS folder are placed within the userfiles game sever folder. Problem is, there is no hlds.exe within the game installation folder for the application setting under system settings for that game server.

Now I did attempt to create a halflife 30 slot server and then just used the server.cfg, motd.txt, and maplist.txt from TS into the correct valve folder for Halflife. Server would start, and TCAdmin shows it running...I can even ping the server. But when watching through HLSW I see the server constantly restarting itself. (this was the closest I have gotten to correctly installing the game because it was actually showing up in HLSW with the correct server name, etc.)

Setting up the game normally would not allow the server to be turned on at all due to the fact that it could not find the hlds.exe within the server files folder.

I appreciate your assistance on this, but obviously I'm not the smartest server operator.
