Tick Rate

Hello,

 

I am having a small issue here. I set the tick rate at 100 and fps at 500 on this CSS server.

I login and check the tick rate it spikes from 70-100. Im new to the boost in CSS. Is this normal ?

CPU load issue probably.

I have windows media player and the boost running in the background. From what I read the windows media player just needs to sit there.

As for the boost. Ive research and cant find anything on using it to level the cpu loads.

If your CPU load is too high on the machine, the tickrate will not stay constant at 100 tick. it will bounce up and down.

What CPU do you have?

 

How many game servers are running on that server?

 

How many slots per game server do you have?

Dual Xeon 2.4 GHZ

3 Servers. All default tick rates.

 

CPU is bouncing from 4-5% - 60-70%

 

I have windows media player open. But not sure how to use the boost. Looked for a manual but havent found anything.

Besides the 1 server I am trying to adjust the tick rate on. Its a 24 slot and the config and command line are edited to read 100 tick

24 slot with 100 tick rate is unstable

You should not go over 20 slots with 100 tickrate.

The issue is your CPU, especially if HT is on.

 

Your going to need to settle with 66 tickrate or upgrade the hardware.
