Monitor Hanging = FTP not working

Anyone else have their monitor getting hung up and not accepting FTP connections?

It seems to do this when the log indicates someone failing to connect or possibly trying to brute force their way in.

"Ip has been banned for 15 minutes. Too many login attempts."

Don't know what to do about this, happens every few days.

Thanks for any advice/help.

The monitor does run in low priority mode to avoid lagging the game servers. Possibly the person trying to get in is flooding many FTP requests at one time causing the monitor to stop responding?

You can go into the windows services list and set the monitor service to restart itself in the properties. This may stop the FTP not working. However I would suggest maybe getting you provider to block the inbound IP for you. Or install a firewall so you may block these yourself.

I have changed the monitor to restart in the services, but I guess it is not the whole monitor that is hanging, just the ftp portion of it. Still getting random failures on the ftp where people cannot connect even though the monitor says it is working.

Hmm well I don't think that's the problem because it works fine for a while then dies. After I restart the monitor it starts working again.

I think what is needed is to monitor the ftp process inside the monitor and restart it if it hangs?
