trev-gdr
Just dropping in to introduce myself, some of you may know me from WHT with the username gamingdoneright, and others who I have or currently conduct business with. Finally made the move a bit ago to tcadmin from the dreaded game-panel.com(was looking for a nix solution) and couldn't be happier, very intuitive panel that makes my job A LOT easier . Got everything automated now just in time for my new site and location that is coming up soon. Gotta say I'm pretty amazed from just looking around the forums a bit to not see the hostility that I've witnessed on other forums, perhaps I have found the place to actually be friends with other gsp owners . Lol anyways, see ya around .

We probably will not actually do it for you, but will at least point you in the right direction for a solution And you will love the support from TCAdmin for any problems that might crop up. JasonF
most of us have hair on our nuts, and can reply with a legatimate non-flaming response Ditto. As with any public forum, there is a small crowd here will start some b.s. for no reason other than to be negative. Just noticed this about game-panel.com Game-Panel.com is under new ownership, Please update your bookmarks for their website.
trev-gdr
Ya the game-panel software was designed/ran by two guys, they had an alright piece of software and an even more promising piece of software being designed, they just didn't manage their customers well. The new owners may be better and will probably release v3 of the software soon, but I can't see it being any better if even close to TCAdmin. Daersun
You know, all things considered we are a pretty easy group - but as most of us olderguys have seen SO MANY kiddie hosts come and go, we have an annoyance with posts like: I want to sell game servers tomorrow, how do I do it? or One of my customers asked me for boosted servers, how do I sell him that? all in all, dont attack one of my providers, dont act like a moron, and dont take peoples money until you can provide a quality level of service, and we will all be your best bud All in all, we are very helpful. JasonF
dont attack one of my providers Without re-living a previous thread but a person's opinion about a data center is no reason to flame or start an argument. I have 2 servers at The Planet and am a forum moderator for their forums and have seen them bashed many times in these forums. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about their providers and it is no reason to start a insult war between forum members.
Monk
I've been using the *NIX version for a long, long time. I've had to replace a majority of the scripts with stuff I've written specifically for freebsd compatibility. I like it, though.

Understandable, I know it's hard to see new companies that come in and tarnish the market with low prices and terrible service. I have been learning quite a bit for the past year and most just lately the past two months. I admit, I had a completely different perception of the game server market before I entered it, but I feel now I have a good grasp on it and have come up with a strong business plan that suits the market and my target audience. I'll just have to wait and see if it works once my new campaign begins.

Saying, I am not happy with a service is different then saying "their network is crap" or they are crap. That is insulting the service I provide for my customers saying that the network I provide is crap.
swish
Just a curiosity question since the Linux version was gone long before I got here, why was the Linux version dropped? It was dropped because so many people were using the Windows version and they needed to focus on updates and any bugs in the windows version and fine tune one product first. JasonF
It was dropped because so many people were using the Windows version and they needed to focus on updates and any bugs in the windows version and fine tune one product first. Understandable. Also Doug made a good point on IM, that the million flavors of Linux made it difficult at times. Jordan - next time a fellow veterinarian says a certain drug sucks, that I happen to use, I guess I should take it as a personal attack and insult him.
