Setup finished but server not running not running !

hey guys...

 

i am a noobie at this TCadmin and i am having a few problems getting it to setup a server correctly.

 

After it as said "Game server as been created", i try to connect and i can't so i checked the report for the server and it say's "status : Running" but also says"Game server is not responding".

 

Have i installed something wrong or maybe selected the wrong options.

 

Please help it's driving me nuts

There could be a bunch of things that would cause it to create and not respond. Bad command line, bad server files, bad server config, server lacking software for the game to run, etc.

Make sure it shows Interact with Desktop. Sometimes it could be running but not showing. And not always does the Game-Monitor.com show right off the bat if the server is running.

 

Also attempt what vet said. Check command line,config, and files. I have had it were it shows complete but missing a few files because of a maxed HD. Check that as well.

After the file copy is finished and the server is started i can't seem to see a cod4 console on the taskbar..

 

I have interact with desktop enabled to.

 

Any ideas

Manged to fix it..

 

i had'nt installed the game file's properly .. thanks for the tops though.

yeah, a directx compatibility problem got me. full windows updates/etc but didn't install a cod4 compatible directx product. didn't show failure just never launched.

 

Had to manually try to launch the mp.exe file and it showed the error immediately.

 

Once installed worked flawlessly as always

For any dedicated server running game servers, I would highly recommend installing DirectX9 and C++ Runtime because a lot of games require those programs especially the newer games.
