khjb007
I'm really frustrated because the only reason why I got tcadmin was to have it monitor servers and if they crash, restart them but it's not doing its job right now I run team fortress 2 servers and others but when one of the server crashes for whatever reason, tcadmin just won't restart it It successfully restarts a crashed server if I manually click the restart link but it never restarts a crashed server on its own As far as I can tell, tcadmin can only restart a server when I type quit in console to stop a server. If this is the only thing it can do, I would just use firedaemon... So if tcadmin can actually restart crashed servers, can I get some help to find out why it's not doing its job on my server? DougK94
What do you have "Game Compatibility" set to for TF2?
JasonF
System Settings >> Plugins >> Game Server Monitor >> When Service is Running and Game Server Doesn't Respond Make sure you have restart service checked.
khjb007
ok I checked "Restart Service" box and I'll see if it restarts crashed game servers and to answer DougK94, I didn't set its compatibility to anything but I saw a config someone uploaded for tf2 and I think I should set it to "source"
khjb007
ok now tcadmin restarts crashed servers but there's another problem it restarts a server that's running just fine! I changed "Check if Running Every" to 30 seconds but it keeps restarts my team fortress 2 server every few minutes. It doesn't restart empty servers but it restarts perfectly fine servers... how can I fix this problem?
DougK94
Try setting "Game Compatibility" to Halflife2
khjb007
when I try to view server status of team fortress 2 servers, tcadmin says that no results were found. I think this is the reason why it keeps restarting running servers. Is there a way to stop this? changing compatibility didn't do anything
ECF
Set the Game compatibility to blank. Someone had put in a ticket about the TF2 server query not working. I will ask Luis if he has fixed it yet.
JasonF
ECF, the current query is reading that the server is up and that max slots were not affected, it is just not reading the player names so this is the not the issue. He has a bunk TF2 TCAdmin config, server.cfg or files.
soko
I also have the game monitor problem described here. All my servers run fine with no issues but they do not restart "crashed" servers either. I use half life - counterstrike - windows and counterstrike source - windows for game types. Anytime I turn the monitor on it immediately shows servers with players on them as not responding and tries to restart them. Are you all using this monitoring? i really think it would be useful but never been able to use it. FYI...the server status he is referring to is for any half life 2 server. I cannot see server status on any hl2 game. hl1 are fine.
JasonF
HL2 games query fine, just not the orangebox HL2 games. I have checked a million times and all of my CSS, FF, DoDS servers show player names and server status, just not orangebox games (TF2 and Garry's Mod). If you CS servers are not querying properly then you have a bad TCAdmin config, server files setup or server.cfg
