Respect is earned through your actions not handed out like gifts.

 

This is a perfect example of how "unbiased" these review sites are... I'm really starting to wonder where the intelligent people went??

 

 

PS. Bobby, You got busted bro. At least have the dignity to own up to it.

Umm, No, I'm not busted bro. I know what I know. TBH, real issue was how to handle it going forward. Either drop my prices like you did and go after them or take the high road and just let it slide, or maybe just have the flame post removed. I'm still thinking about my options.

 

I didnt bring up anything up when it happened. I only brought it up after this thread was started.

I justed wanted to add this into this thread, a majority of these sites are started out of the league forums, there started because every new season the incoming new teams ask the same question day after day on the forums "im buying a gameserver, who is the best" ...The review sites are mainly advertised within these relms aswell, so being biased could definately be pointed in the "review" sites direction but then again I guess whether or not you cared, would pertain to whether or not that segment of the market had anything to do with your business, or your selling strategy.

 

I personally come at it with a no drama approach, and I see a guy putting time into a site that looks like it could be benefitial to the community as a whole, so I throw up a link on my page and exchange emails, give suggestions etc....Making contacts, something that is crucial in a business environment.

 

I have to agree with you swish, cheer up! Be happy! :) It is what it is, just use it as firepower to do even better! Thats the approach I take!

Honestly if you don't like a site just don't visit it. There will never be an unbiased review site, no matter how hard you try. Reviews are done by people, not robots. As humans we all have a bias against something, for some reason or another. Web Hosting Talk is filled with hosting providers and biased reviews, yet several of you who complain about these GSP sites frequent WHT

 

Rich: Hate to break it to you buddy, but you're not that well known either. Seniority doesn't give you the right to bash on providers you've never heard of. The game server industry is never going to be taken seriously when even the providers don't take their industry seriously. (I must admit I do bash on the GSP market once in a while, but I welcome these types of sites as they try to bring a sense of unity and professionalism (don't laugh) to the game server hosting industry)

Keep in mind, on the internet, reputation is everything. So when biased and innacurate information is posted about your company, action must be taken.

Well known or not we're still kicking ass 5+ years into it and going stronger then ever. Must be doing something right :)

Despite popular belief this industry didn't show up overnight. Many good folks contributed to the task of figuring out how to run games and do it in a way that people would want to pay for them. There wasn't a forum to seek advise or instructions. Even the developers had no idea how to run dedicated servers and that's a fact so who cares if some are proud of their contributions to this industry. They earned it.

I would suggest reading back through what I said before getting nutty. I don't believe any reference was made to anyone good or bad. If explaining how it used to be offends you I'm sorry. Some of the newer folks enjoy hearing how their current vocation evolved. My apologies if the history lessen went over your head. If you weren't tending to my business you may have noticed.
