an error i get

i am trying to install the new extreme mod for COD4..i am pretty sure i have the command line right ( but i could be wrong ) but when i join the server i get this error,,,code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server... any thoughts?? thanks

where i think the issue might be is the line fs_game mods/extreme needs to go between "1" and +exec server.cfg..but i could be wrong on that too

The error suggests that the files are not the same between the client and server, or the mod is not being loaded.

 

You can use the overide commandline option in "Service Settings" for that game server and edit the commandline to whatever you like, such as...

Hey Comic i did some research on this issue and found this not sure if will help but give it a try ----code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server

They did it again! This issue has to my knowledge only been reported on steam clients. This step by step guide should help you fix the ERROR code code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server

 

* Download this file: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service (Cod4PostGfxFix2.zip) containing the nessecary files for this guide.

* Go to your \call of duty 4\zone\english directory and make a backup of the following files:

code_post_gfx_mp.ff

localized_code_post_gfx_mp.ff

mp_crash_snow.ff

mp_crash_snow_load.ff

ui_mp.ff

* Extract all the files from Cod4PostGfxFix2.zip to your \call of duty 4\zone\english directory.

* Start the game in multiplayer mode

* Go to Options > Optimal System Settings and restart COD4 system settings. Note! All custom video tweaks will be lost!

* You should be able to play the game

 

 

It has been reported that this does not work for everyone.

thanks for the replies guys but first i think i should clarify a few things,,, i am a client, by that i mean i get a server from someone who is getting this CP from you, BUT at this moment in time does not have a support system set up yet, so he he told me to come here and post. So i did. I am taking what you said ECF that the mod needs to be installed on the host side as well??? cause i am pretty sure its right on my end. But like before i could be wrong. And as for Reds comment i am pretty sure it or i am not a steam client,at least not for this game,but i appreciate the reply...I get the error in this order,, i click to join,,says setting up game and then the error, so the mod doesn't get a chance to download, hope this helps thanks

Well the company that is using our software should not be pointing you to us for help with their gameservers. However we do have quite a few knowlegable people here that may be able to help you out.

 

I am going to move this to the Game Server Support section of the forums as it is not a TCAdmin support issue.
