So the other day a guy set's his Vent server name to over 31 characters and it errors out. No problem I edit the template file in the config editor and set max characters to 30.

 

Problem solved right? Nope .. Next guy we rent a server to sets his server name to 3 characters and Vent requires a Minimum of 4. No lockdown in the config editor for minimum number of characters.

A simple note next to that field stating the server name must be more than 4 characters long may help.

Yup, tried that except nobody reads these days. LOL .

Give them a button to push and they will push it regardless of wether or not it says "Do Not Push". But sofar only 2 have broken it.

 

At least it's easy to correct and Vent errors logs are pretty decent about the errors.

Just had a second client pull the same 3 character stunt, and theres a bold letter warning in our panel. LOL Maybe a V2 feature request? hint hint
