dexion
Howdy, I have a bfv 1.21 server running. Every time the map changes it spawns a new server. Ie one server is running the map changes and a new server spawns. So, if theres 5 map changes there are 6 servers running (1 for the starting one and one for each map change.) Anyone run into this and know how to fix it? Thanks dex
JasonF
BF Vietnam is not supported by TCAdmin for this reason. You should use Black Bag Ops server manager to control the game server. Basically TCAdmin starts Black Bag Ops, someone logs into BBO and starts the game server.
dexion
ah well then that may be the reason for the wackyness. Thanks ill try that.
ECF
Jason is correct. For some reason BFV spawns a new process each time the map changes. This is why we have removed it from the supported games list.
JasonF
They did it to eliminate a memory leak I thought. Since the game server closes at the end of the round, it will never build up memory usage and crash.
dexion
I did find bbo's bfv manager I just cant figure out how to have it spawn a game. I can connect to a running game but not have someone connect and make one. Their site seems to be down so I cant find any docs. I can double click the bfv server and it will not spawn a new server on mapchange. But if i run the file from a .bat file it will which is curious. Do you know of a site with instructions on setting up bbo?
dexion
oh, all the start/stop etc actually everything pretty much is grayed out until one connects to a running game.
=ICG/A=Sky Captain
I know this topic is old, but I thought I'd post this for anyone who has this problem. There are several command line options for BBO that make it easier to use with TCAdmin: -start (will autostart the server when BBO is started) -port 15667 (can change this to a different port for the server manager to listen on) -stop (I believe this will start the server with the settings that are in BBO, then close the server manager) I've noticed that these have to be in a certain order, so if you are using say the start and port options, try rearranging them if they don't work at first.
