Cart System

Hey guys it's been a while.... I have been offered a job for a wholesale store which would require me to build a web site where users can purchase clothing, coffee mugs, and some other items. I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with any shopping cart software and was wondering if you had any reccomendations. I would prefer a php based system but others would also be accepted.

You should consider xcart which is not free but very powerful.
