AA deploy provider good income?

Just saw the 2.8.4 update, the client deploy. I see that Non-Honor GSP's are offering the files. I'm curious on how much Pragmatic is paying the GSP per meg?

It is advertising to them. They host the files and AA puts their company's name on their site giving them exposure.

You would think that Deploy providers would get some kind of discount rate on Honor.

If you really think about it logically here though, how many providers do you think they can garner freely just with the exposure...Why would they pay or provide discounts?

We have had over 10k downloads of our deploy client that has OUR logo on it. That exposure is worth the free server for downloads for this.

I'm not complaining.

Technically its not really a free game. Not many people want to play on non-honor servers, so that's not free. And not just any joe GSP can provide honor servers.

Its not like EA, where if you............................. well, just anyone can't provide honor servers.

Anyone with a pulse can host Honor as long as you pay thru the nose.

Deploy seems to be a well disguised scam. The small amount of exposure you get does not make up for the resources used.

To provide bandwidth and server resources for a game that you do not host seems kinda silly to me.

 

Anyone downloading the client isn't looking for a non-honor server, they are looking for an honor server, and most likely already have one. If you don't provide honor servers then why would you waste that bandwidth on people that could care less about your services?

I agree, 95% of the people who download from your site will already have an Honor server and the other 5% will never visit your site.
