COD UO version1.4?

Hi,

 

One of our clients has asked that their cod server be put to version 1.4 (we run 1.51b). The problem is we no longer have v 1.4, as given the age of it we (wrongly) got rid of the older version files and disc. Obviously I wouldn't normally ask but this is a good client, and is worth the extra hassle.

 

Does anyone know where I can get, if it's possible, the older files, preferably online to save time.

Buy the older versions of the CDs from ebay but finding the 1.4 patch is going to be your biggest problem.

A quick update...

 

I have got wind of the ability to downgrade a cod uo 1.51 server to cod uo 1.41.

 

I am looking in to it and will post the results, just in case it helps anyone else.

Got it sorted, and all works fine. And my version wasn't one that was patched up to 1.51b, it came as that on the disc, so this working ws simply fantastic.

 

For anyone else who needs to know this is what I found: -

 

Go to http://www.biohazardclan.com/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user and create an account

 

After creating an account, log in and go to http://www.biohazardclan.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=2 and download the file.

 

 

 

What follows are the directions from http://www.biohazardclan.com

 

This file will rollback (unpatch) a COPY of a current 1.51 version of the game folder. The currently installed 1.51 version of the game is not affected by the rollback. All modifications are made to COPIES of the files. When completed, the user will be able to play on Call of Duty United Offensive version 1.41 and 1.51 multiplayer servers by launching the game from SEPARATE folders. This rollback solution is offered "AS IS" and for use AT YOUR OWN RISK. This rollback is not supported by the makers of Call of Duty. IMPORTANT, follow these instructions: -Download this Rollback click SAVE -Save the Rollback file in your current Call of Duty version 1.5 game folder. -Execute the file from the game folder. -THE FILE MUST BE RUN FROM THE GAME FOLDER! (post your feedback on our Call of Duty forum in the rollback thread)

 

I have tested this and it works perfectly, with no issues that I can see.

I also downloaded this rollback file and it worked, but for some reason our servers will crash over time. Also, my client is saying that they get an invalid pak file when trying to connect with "pure" server on. So, I'm guessing this rollback may not have the correct files unless I'm missing something.

 

Anyone know of an alternative source for 1.4 server files?

I haven't noticed the crashing issue, however we did get the issue with invalid PAK files warning.

 

I just re-did the process ensuring I strictly stuck to the instructions and didn't get the issue again.

 

It might be worth checking you don't have the 1.5 version files in your directory you are trying to connect with, remember if you want to play a 1.4 server you CANT have any newer files, so you need a seperate install of the game locally in order to play the server.
