Hey Guys I bought some dells and HP's.And am Now looking to make my own now can you guys and girls list some good parts and a link for it on here?

 

Also if i buy a HP DL380 G5 Case Can i use it with other parts installed just the case of that model? thanks for the replys

I would just get a Supermicro barebones server from NewEgg. You will need a CPU, RAM, HDD and a optical drive to install into the barebones server but it is still a hell of a lot cheaper than buying the entire server preassembled by the manuf.

Well, if you're buying a HP, it's better to use their recommended parts. But you can install everything that you want inside, except for HDD bays :)

Not to hijack the thread, but what's a good place to get SM stuff in the UK? My normal one stop computer shop is eBuyer, but they don't do any SM stuff it seems.

eBuyer are so bad, I have run into many issues with them. I would recommend Scan.co.uk by far :)

Never had any major issues after 50 orders, but go with who you think provides you the best service.:)
