TF2 Server Health Check

Is there a way to disable this per server, or per game?

Apparently my TF2 server, which is up and running fine, is not able to stay online because tcadmin keeps shutting it down, apparently it is not responding to the health checks.

Game query protocols CHANGE from time to time. I have pulled up the TF2 found on the forums and it is using an older query protocol. You need to change the query protocol as has been suggested several times but you never address.

Go to system -> Supported Games -> TF2 details The 12th box down is game compatibility change it to Halflife2 and save.

Since game query protocol change from time to time it would be very wise to remember where it is so you can just ask what the current query protocol is and set it. Or perhaps follow discussion on the forum as many games this is discussed every time it changes.

Also double posting a problem is in VERY poor taste and makes your job harder. You’ve been told not to in the past, please stop. Thanks ;)

I have TRIED source AND Halflife2 as the game compatibility and neither worked. I don't need a lecture from you on how to search forums, since I already have. I see that it used 27015, I played on servers in the past few hours that are on 27015.

I didn't realize I double posted, and that would be the first time. In the future if you want to lecture someone on forum rules, it would show that you had GOOD taste if you just did in via pm so they could fix their errors.

If you did not have anything that could help me troubleshoot this, please do not post, and bring the lectures to pm.

Never said one word about searching the forums, and a I was posting a fix.

Thing is it boils down to the following three things...

Game not running.. you say it is

Firewall...you say is not there

Or query.. you say you are using the same port it is running on and have set it to halflife2.

I'd suggest taking a breather so you can clear your head and defrustrate yourself and re-addressing each of these issues. ;)

I don't need a breather I just had a breakfast burrito. I would just like this resolved. As I have said in previous posts(and a few I haven't said):

A) Firewall is disabled

B) Port is correct, and set to correct type of game

C) Game RUNS FINE, Server STARTS up, I can see it in the server list.

D) TCADMIN think's it is not responding, it eventually shuts it down

E) No MODS installed

F) No admin mods installed

G) Windows Server 2008

H) I am using this config file: http://clientforums.tcadmin.com/showpost.php?p=18067&postcount=1

:-) If you have any ideas of what it might be, please let me know. I have installed and re-installed about 10 times, and installed multiple servers all with the same problem.

Maybe its good idea to delete TF2 from tcadmin and server and install it again by hands without prepared configs?

I havent TF2 already installed on my box so i can't tell you about some specific settings that cause such problems. It will be nice if someone shares 100% working config so you can find out some defects in your config.

Last thing is WIndows 2008. Maybe TF2 is exact game which doesn't work proper on this platform.

I've used both config files for TF2 from here at TCadmin. One was the same that pjdaley linked to and another I can't find.

Either way, I had mine set to Source for compatibility for 1.5 months and never encountered any issues as described that are related to this. One modded and one stock server, 27015 and 27025, respectively.

I did end up changing it to Half Life 2 compatibility a couple weeks ago and didn't notice anything, but maybe I just didn't know. Not that this resolves your issue, but thought it was an experience to share.

Hope you get it worked out.
