HLDS Update failures

Some users have brought up an issue with the HL based update feature timing out with a "Connection reset by peer" error.




Please do the following to correct this issue:




Login to your server(s) and locate the files called HldsUpdateTool_16.mst and ClientRegistry.blob located in your monitor folder.




Delete these two files and then run the HLDSUpdatetool right from the monitor folder by double clicking it. This update will take a few minutes as it downloads the new version of HLDSUpdatetool.




Once completed you should be able to run the update via TCAdmin without the timeout errors.




Make sure you delete the above mentioned files, and reupdate all HLDSUpdatetools on all servers, both master and remote.
