You should specify what currency you are looking for bids to be in to aleviate any confusion, and possibly get more responces. If people think you want a rediculous price becuase you are talking a different currency then it is likely to scare them away from even bidding. SickPuppy
I think there is a $50 transfer for a master license so $75 U.S. is the best I can do that should be around $97 AUD. Anyone paying more than that would be better off purchasing a new license.
VicToMeyeZR
yeah, thats over $200 USD. I will give you $100 USD and pay half the transfer fee. If that includes almost a full year for updates. would be worth that, unless v2 requires us to pay again. ECF?

Vic’s offer of $100 and half the transfer fee that is the same thing as me paying $75 and the entire transfer fee. Actually my offer is better because if koasx pays half of the $50 transfer, which will be $25, he ends up paying $32.22 AUD.

VicToMeyeZR
Actually I didn't see where you said you would pay the transfer fee. lol Of course like i said if v2 requires a new purchase, then I probably wouldn't

I wouldn't release a new version without charging an upgrade fee. I am sure that whatever the upgrade fee is it will be reasonable.
ECF
V2 will require an upgrade cost. What it will be we do not know yet. However the price to upgrade vs. buying a whole new license will be lower. Most likely the cost of the orignal license will be deducted from the V2 license price.

Well technically I wouldn't want to deal with the legality of it becasue this is straight off the homepage: Purchased licensing includes updates, and support for 1 year. Renewal rates for additional years are 20% for master servers and 15% for remote servers. I guess if there going to run 2 versions forever, then they could get a way with it, but this really borders very close to false advertising. I don’t think you understand what that means. Purchased licensing includes updates, and support for 1 year. Renewal rates for additional years are 20% for master servers and 15% for remote servers. It is my understanding that this refers to updates for the version you purchased and the fee is to renew the support only. Just because you purchased Windows XP does not mean you get Vista for free. You have to pay to upgrade and that is not the same as an update. Update applies to the current version you purchased.

VicToMeyeZR
here is a free FYI for you. When you develop software, and you go from v1.4324.543543 to v2 doesn't mean its separate. That would be perceived as an update. Windows is not call XP v1.34324.54353 and XP v2.0302.32432 and you have to pay again... So its all about perception, and well deception.... Depending on how a person looks at it. Like I said, if they continue with this current version forever, then there is no problems. If the stop this version, then they are then open for lawsuits.... studeggle
updates almost NEVER include upgrades V2 is a whole new piece different .net, has been being worked on for about the last year or two while updates are still being made too v1. Version vs xp, 2000, 2003, 2008 millenium... it is all just a name game. I'm fairly certian if there are vunrabilities exposed with V1 after they release V2 they will still create and release an update for v1 to fix it. But they will quit with the new features. This is required bussiness, something has to pay for continued development and that is upgrades to a new product rather then just updates to the old. edit: Would it make you feel better if they only call it tcadmin2 heck I think I have even seen that term, the version may have been started more by clients. ECF
"Updates" are not "Upgrades". Common sense should tell you that a new version is an "Upgrade". I honestly can't believe that people are complaining about paying a bit more for a brand new version of software that is far better than Version 1. ECF
The beta will be released well before years end I can assure you that. Luis started from scratch instead of trying to build off of version 1. He has already shown me show really nice screenshots of some great new features.
VicToMeyeZR
Its all about perceived update/upgrade. Whatever you want to call it. Perception. Personally if I had bought the full license, and had to pay again for the next version, then I would be upset. Like I said, they will quit updating v1 completely, because I have seen it. And by the way they are advertising, they would be ripping people off for the currently "year support/upgrades" that TCA has NO INTENTIONS of fulfilling. What y'all don't make enough money off tca as it is? How many licenses of v1 do you sell, and get YEARLY money for? I think it is you that shouldn't be complaining, and it you STOP updating v1, then you are liable. Plain and simple. I am tired of money hungry $#Q@#. Life is more than just money people, and as soon as you understand that, you will be a lot happier.

ECF
If you are so upset and think we are money hungry people then go find another product to use. There are other panels out there, and no one is keeping you here against your will.
ECF
Just if we had access to them Screenshots don't show functionality. So they are pretty useless. Unfortunately right after we posted the V2 thread we had some major setbacks which is why we took the forum down. Also, we have so copycats that try to ride our curtails. So we prefer not to divulge any info or screenshots until we have at least a beta going. We had another panel basically steal our site images and wording a few months back... This is why we keep things secure now. We promise that once we have something for you folks you will be the first people to know about it.

Also, do we have to pay more based on how many remote servers we have?
