tnc-hosting
hi chaps, As the title suggests I am looking for a remote server monitoring tool, where i can monitor multiple servers in multiple dc's and if configured would produce daily/weekly/monthly reports and possiblly alerts if cpu usage hits a certain benchmark. I know TCAdmin has this already (to an extent) but wanted something a bit more specific, if that makes sense Any recommendations at all?

HIS-MOTHER
cacti Which needs SNMP installed on the monitored machines to querry more than just simple traffic.
jcroom
personally I would go for something that uses WMI if all you are using are windows boxes. Just based on my own experience.

"SNMP" is not an answer he is looking for. He obv wants a application/utility/script/program whatever you want to call it. So he needs a server/desktop to run SNMP you see that is just silly. SNMP with Catci or some other tool such as Solarwinds Orion would do exactly this. You can querry and generate reports along with monitor and alert for CPU, memory usage and even monitor applications. So Stop talking out of your @ss

So Stop talking out of your @ss as you just made my point as you are just being silly. It's like someone asking how can I get to point a to point b. "O you need a motor" *cough* you need a car or something such as a car.

As cacti alone which you suggested was not the answer either. More than likely you just like to have the last post. Why I rarely post in this forum anymore except for patches and quick replies. To many loudmouth's in here. Yawn /replies to this thread.
