Gunslinger
It looks like there are no dedi server files out for this (yet). Has anybody managed to upload the game to a server and create a working TCAdmin config yet? I have the game on order and am hoping to get this set up. TIA
Guest louise
There is no way to set up a dedi server even with the game that i have found
Gunslinger
Thanks for the reply. This looks like it could be a good game, let's hope they release the server files soon then, also looking at the OF forums a patch might be in order - but then what game lately hasn't been in need of a patch from Day 1?!! Here's hoping this is not another Wolfenstein...............
Guest louise
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will not feature dedicated servers at launch I'm afraid. We are unable to confirm any plans for dedicated servers at the current time unfortunately from Rob at codemasters Seems they have more game issues than have time to sort our or even yet develop server tutorial or files
Gunslinger
Oh dear, not the best news for a game release that actually looks like it could be good!
studeggle
I'd say after that type of news most will give up on the game. People now days want to do online play and I just don't think OF has what it would take to survive as a single player game.
Defcon|Rich
Looking through the game files it doesn't appear to be workable.. What a bust.
Gunslinger
I can't believe they won't release the server files...... they would be mad not to - wouldn't they?
Derek
We had a crap load of people wanting this game. Haa
Defcon|Rich
I can't believe they won't release the server files...... they would be mad not to - wouldn't they? It would be in they're best interest that's for sure but you have to understand the game companies first and foremost cater to the console market because that's where the lions share of the profits come from and the multiplayer aspect of most games is built in for them.. IE: no standalone dedicated server component required..

Defcon|Rich
Quote: Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising does not support standalone servers I'm afraid. The multiplayer game is peer to peer only.
Defcon|Rich
Further info for you. OFP2 is based on a proprietary game engine developed by Codemasters so it's almost impossible to figure out any type of commandline arrangement (Supposing one is available) to create a stand alone dedicated server.
