How does Ben Jones sleep at night?

Looks like Ben at GameServersDirect.net had some trouble coming up with an original idea for his new game server hosting site.. I guess that it's not necessary when it's much easier for him to blatantly copy UltimateGameServer.com. It's one thing to create original content from an idea you like, it's another thing to reproduce content nearly identical to someone else's.

 

What would you do with Ben? Should we pursue legal action immediately or let him lose money for a few months first while he learns to host game servers?

What makes you think he lose money the first few months? CLEARLY "Ben" likes to take shortcuts and cheat the system, I'm sure he cheats and takes shortcuts thoughout his life, Once you bring that mindset into business he's doomed for failure. He will lose money more than a few months thats for sure.

I agree with Stu, there's no blatant copy there. He's used a similar header, the footer is completely different along with the structure of the content.

He clearly found another GSP's site that he loves and the website was designed off of it. We all do similar things. We find something someone else has done and try to improve or base off of it. I do agree that their should have been some changes in their, but I'm sure he told the designer, "I really like this site, could you base it off of it" and in which the designer probably did....

You have to be joking. That's as blatant as it gets. Awesome that he's figured out how to change a colour scheme and some minor shapes, oh and don't forget he's a little more up to date on the coding.

 

That site is the definition of a copy. Try opening your eyes if you disagreed.

I used whites and blues first so I guess they are both a copy of me .

 

Come on now people similar colors, even IDENTICAL colors do not a copy make.

 

Similar box layout do not a copy make, face it box layout has been around for years.

 

A navigation bar across the top under a big banner a copy do not make. Navigation bars across the top under banners have been around for years.

 

But if you feel there is coping going on feel free to try legal action just please capture it on video so we can all have a nice laugh as they laugh you out of court.

I'd suggest contacting the appropriate authorities if you feel a copyright infringement has taken place. Discussing the merits of it on this forum really won't do any good..

Think of it as flattering. Another Game Control Panel copied content from our site a while back. They even went as far as copying our features list word for word.

 

If it financial hurts your business or if you feel strongly enough about it then legal action would be the way to go. Contact their hosting provider and claim copyright infringement.
