Also used a L4D server.cfg but this will get her in the lobby.

 

Edit.. Fixed -game in commandline to call correct game

Yeah, game looks good although your config is wrong should be -game left4dead2 as demo doesn't launch it and also your map in command line is not correct and should be c5m1_waterfront

 

edit. seems like tcadmin isnt querying the game correctly as far as I can see.

Also as stated my structure is different and my folder name is -game left4fead2_demo

negative, game goes up fine we have a bunch of servers running already.

 

You need to have it set as left4dead2 and you need to have the structure like you have which is left4dead2_demo

It'll launch with that folder structure, but it wont steam update :\

Why would you change the structure ? Just seems silly. Anyhow, they always went up fine btw

 

Also might want to fix your config as people will complain that it doesnt work.

im having problems setting up servers :/

they work if run directly from srcds.exe, but not in TCadmin.

 

i have included / attached a screenshot of my setup in TCAdmin

 

my command line in TCAdmin is: -console -game left4dead2_demo +ip %serverip% -port %serverport% +map l4d_vs_hospital01_apartment -secure -tickrate 66

 

and my srcds file is located at: C:\GameInstalls\Left4Dead2demo\left4dead2_demo\srcds.exe

 

any help would be greatly appreciated

Use the hldsupdatetool.exe please.

I am having the same exact problem. Was there a resolution? I installed the gamefiles with the hldsupdatetool and am pointing to the correct directories, but the only way I can get it to run is launching it directly from the remote server.

same, i have directed it properly, and the instalation even comes up under my ADMIN user in USERFILES, but the server cannot be seen in steam.

 

So the server is active, but not accessible.

 

Iv modded my command line too: -console -game left4dead2 +ip %serverip% -port %serverport% +map c5m1_waterfront -secure -tickrate 66 +fps_max 400

 

-game left4dead2_demo also installs the gameservers, but has the same problem.

Works fine on tcadmin for me.

 

On a side note didn't I tell you, people will have problems with the config as it's not correct.

I got mine working. It was a problem with the command line. I modded it to

 

-console -game left4dead2 +ip %serverip% -port %serverport% +maxplayers 8 +map c5m1_waterfront

 

And it worked fine. Crazy.

Im using the HalfLife2 Compatibility without issue, also using al lthe regular settings from L4D.
