Bug: Console cursor loss [RESOLVED]

TCAdmin Version: 2.0.18.0

Operating System: Debian Squeeze, 64 bit, Stock Kernel customized for 1000Hz

Machine Specs: Dual X5472 @ 3.00GHz, 8GB

Database Type: mysql

 

Observed: Loss of terminal cursor in console running monitor-console or serviceman-console, after application shutdown.

Expected: Cursor is reactivated.

 

To reproduce:

1. follow linux installation instructions.

2. After step "Click on Finish to apply your configuration and restart the monitor", check the console running monitor-console, cursor is gone.

Example after upgrading via web console from .18 to .19:

 

Updating: /home/violent/tca2beta/Monitor/WebServices/bin/upload.aspx.980c1c66.compiled

Updating: /home/violent/tca2beta/Monitor/WebServices/bin/uploadstatestorehandler.ashx.ba729e64.compiled

Moving /home/violent/tca2beta/Temp/Upgrade/Database to ../Database

Updating: /home/violent/tca2beta/Database/_blank.db

Starting the service manager

Started the service manager

The TCAdmin Service Manager is stopped

The TCAdmin Monitor has been started

The TCAdmin Service Manager has been started

*here cursor stops moving while typing, and no output to console*.

I know this happens when you update tcadmin while running in console mode. It is because the console app is waiting for input. The update process kills the console causing the cursor loss. To fix just execute a reset command.

 

For the updatetool you just need to press enter. I will add a message in the next update.
