Somer
Would it be at all possible to be able to download a file, just like for mods, but for updates? And for uncompressed files, be able to specify the file-name as well as the path in the "Extract Path" textbox. Edit: Just read that some people found it a security risk. In what way are mods not vulnerable from the same risk? You don't have to use the feature anyway, and it would be very handy for things like supplying the latest stable bukkit build for example. LFA
This will be available in the next update. This is a security risk but the feature can be disabled in the configuration utility.
ECF
If you control the mod files and house them on your own webserver then the security risk should be minimal. However downloading files directly from an external website would not be a good idea as you don't know what may be in those files... eg... virus, malware etc... Somer
When specifying a path in "extract to" for a file that has been downloaded from a url, it won't overwrite any files, it would be helpful if it overwrote existing files by the specified name.
